I used installation foam to make a blob monster. It was left over from a home improvement project.
The monster is about four inches across and very durable, and it was free.

That brings back memories from the early 1970's… I remember watching the movie, "The Blob." Great rendition of it, as far as I remember it! Thanks for jarring that very old memory from my youth. LOL! Cheers!

I guess spray paint doesn't dissolve the insulation like it does some foam products. If that's the case, there are some real possibilities there!

Painted gray with some tentacles and ya could have "The Crawling Eye" evil grin

The original movie was made in my area, my mother worked at that grocery store when I was a very young kid.
The original didn't have eyes but it might help those not familiar with the original

Hmm… also looks like the "baby" form of an Awful Green Thing from Outer Space. (Fittingly, there was a one page "expansion" featuring The Obnoxious Orange Thing from Another Place.)

Made me think of the giant amoeba in the lake from Angry Red Planet.

Thank you all for your comments. Yes, Wolfshanz, MRS Bunkermeister and I just watched that a few weeks ago, always a favorite. I was thinking about it when I was painting this. I may have to see about buying miniature squid or octopi and give it a go!
So many options for such a simple model.
