Engage at your own risk, so to speak. And my opinion, there is plenty of goofy theater with Trump. See what the outcomes are. He is in sales, not governance. It's all done with jive, like reality tv. You are right about bargaining chips. And Canada will always be safe. Trump just took office, he deserves some time. We are probably more stable than we appear. It is a weird time in US history, IMO. These leaders in other nations know you have to praise and show deference, and Trump can turn on a dime if they cross him personally. No one is really giving up much for now in any case. The deportations are more symbolic, not yet ramped up. Bukele won't be so happy if a million deportees show up on his doorstep. But we don't have a way to pay for this right now, very busy restructuring executive branch powers, while everyone talks about Greenland, etc. |
