This year's Apparently Annual Holiday Sharp Practice game was a return to the central Florida territory of the Second Seminole War, circa late December 1838. A small supply train had been attacked and captured by the natives who scattered the wagons and livestock among savanna and hammocks with the intent of coming back the next day to pilfer more goods. This caused the local US army post to send out troops to round up what stock they could recover. Local militia also saw an opportunity to acquire some government goods and headed out. The other 2 players had a Seminole and a Black Seminole forces To create a festive mood I handed out oranges for causing casualties, bags of treats were on hand and we had a trivia question after each turn. These were based on early Florida history and of course we had to have some ‘Floriduh man' puzzlers. The last question is always around the greatest Holiday song- the Pogues' Fairytale of New York. 15mm minis and Sharp Practice rules Please click on the pics to get a description and full AAR. This looks great. I've had my eye on the Blue Moon Seminole Range. Nice painting, beautiful terrain. I was wondering what rules to use for this period. |

Such tabletop scenery is at a level on par with the display games of British shows. Well done. |

I bet they don't hand put oranges or have Guinness on hand. |
