Hi Folks, we want to visit Nottingham on our trip to the Partizan. Are there any recommendations for Game Stores etc. in Nottingham for historical Gamers? Greets Franz |

I believe Perry Miniatures are located somewhere around there, aren't they? |

There's also Caliver Books, just up the road at Eastwood, Franz. |

Despite being the lead belt there's only really 2 options if you want to buy historical figures in person: Foundry (not open Saturdays) and Warlord. Caliver great for books etc, but figures are cast to order. Don't think Perrys have somewhere you can visit. If you want historical sites of interest Nottingham Castle includes Sherwood Foresters regimental museum, and quite a few Civil War related sites see link If you were visiting Foundry and/or Caliver there's Newark which is chock-full of Civil War stuff see link link link |

Thx Lorenzo, you were already on our List Are there also Plastic Models Stores that carry e.g. Hasegawa Kits? Are there Book Stores besides Caliver that carry Military Books? Greets Franz |

There is a reasonably big Waterstones in Nottingham which usually carries a reasonable range of military books. Nothing specialist though. I'm not sure that there is a place which carries many plastic models – the old shop that used to carry them until a few years' back closed (Gee Dee) models and I am not sure anything has replaced it. There is a gaming shop in the centre, or was, which carried a smattering of historical things and paints and stuff – Element Games: elementgames.co.uk A bit further out, quite near the ice rink is another games store/games place I think. Can't remember the name. It might have been associated with Games Haven…not sure. There is quite a big boardgame cafe near the centre too, called the Dice Cup. |

Thx for insight Whirlwind. It's a pitty that probably world wide plastic model shops close |

Yes, IIRC Gee Dee Models was a strange one, it closed because the owner wanted to retire but couldn't find a buyer, even though the actual shop was doing alright. link link |
