As you have identified, the battles are at a very low level. AT this level, the best sources of scenarios are from personal memoires etc. A combing of unit histories can help and there id the odd book like Editions Heimdal's '2. Panzer Division' (4 volumes) which includes lots of information of low-level actions. (Reading French is an aid but not necessary.) At a pinch you can recreate scenarios from some famous war films. (Fancy chasing down three Tigers in a small French town?) In all, imagination is important. |

Hi, when you say 'french tank on tank' do you mean tank on tank action in France? If so are you looking at US or Commonwealth forces? Finally what tank models did you get? Kevin |

Brunanburh! :))) westernmini – you don't fight battles with Acthung Panzer (and don't let Warlord try to convince you otherwise). |

Not sure I understand whether it's french armour or armour in France, but anyways, regarding the former : French armour was engaged on several theaters throughout the war : 1940 : France, but also Norway (a few R35 there, taking on German light tanks). 1941 : Syria (you can have H35 & R35 taking on early war British tanks such as Mk VI, A9, A10, don't think there were Matildas) 1943 : S35, D1s and light tanks vs Italian and German tanks in Tunisia. You can even find trace of an engagement between tigers and S35. French tankers had excuses, they mistook them for Pz IVs. 1944 : 3 French ADs on the WTO. Leclerc's is the most famous of course, but you also have the 1st & 5th DBs rushing up the Rhone valley. |
