I am not sure but after more than 50 years I have the feeling that Osprey, who is recycling a lot of previous topics, would like to cover one of its biggest and strange gap given such poll…

well not the Crimean war obviously but
link

Armies of the Crimean War (1): France…!

the (1) indicating that the Russians and British will be "recycled", and why not also a 4th about Ottoman* Turks Egyptians Tunisians and even 5th with Piemontese who knows

the previous titles have been well illustrated by and Pierre Turner (MAA 196 for the British Army in 1987 ~37 years ago) and Rick Scollins (MAA 241 for the Russian Army in 1991 ~34 yeas ago)

*the Ottoman Armies have been covered just last year in a MAA covering '1820-1914'

it remains to know which artist will be chosen for the plates, I am a little disappointed by the quality of the new generation of Osprey artists quite far from the Mike Chappell, Richard Hook, Rick Scollins & Co unfortunately…

The Post-Napoleonic French army of the 19th century (outside the FLL and FPW) seems to be neglected in general.

I would vote for that one.

Happy New Year

I second or third your suggestion re new series on the Crimean War, although the current modern war in Ukraine may mean its not the best time for this?

Couple other dated Ospreys in need on moderisation

Napoleon's Italian and Neapolitan Troops MAA (45 years old)
to be replaced by at least:
The Army of the Kingdom of Italy
Murat's Army of Naples

Likewise 'Scandanavian Armies of the Napoleonic Wars' could be replaced by one for each of Denmark and Sweden

I think the quality of artists at Osprey has always had its ups and downs. Giuseppe Rava art work for his 19th century books is however excellent eg in MAA 515 and MAA520 and 512. probably excellent in any others too, but i have those

cheers

What do you make of Giuseppe Rava?
