"The outstanding modeller from the Province of Neuquén, our friend César Paz, has designed, manufactured and painted figures of troops from the Argentine Confederation and the unitary armies, which he has called "Blues and Reds".

Like his collection of Napoleonic figures, the sculpture is simple, but that same simplicity gives them great elegance and a unique style. César has made infantrymen, artillerymen, horsemen, horses and cannons.

These figures are also endowed with great dynamism and as one fan once said "they are figures that demand to be played with."

César has been kind enough to allow me to publish these photos, which are here for the consideration of the fans."

Note: The war between "Unitarians" and "Federals" has been the longest and bloodiest civil conflict in Argentine history…

"The timeline of the war between the Unitarios and Federales in Argentina includes the following key events:

1820
Estanislao López and Francisco Ramírez, two caudillos from the interior, gain the upper hand over Buenos Aires, marking the start of the period of provincial autonomies.

1826–1827
The first civil war between the Unitarios and Federales in the interior takes place during the war in Brazil. The commanders of the two parties were Gregorio Aráoz de Lamadrid for the Unitarios and Facundo Quiroga for the Federales.

1828–1831
Some of the most important battles of the war include:
Navarro: Victory for the Unitarios on December 9, 1828
Las Palmitas: Victory for the Unitarios on February 17, 1829
Las Vizcacheras: Victory for the Federales on March 28, 1829
San Roque: Victory for the Unitarios on April 22, 1829
Puente Márquez: Victory for the Federales on April 26, 1829
Córdoba: Victory for the Federales on June 21, 1829
La Tablada: Victory for the Unitarios on June 22–23, 1829
Pilar: Victory for the Federales on September 22, 1829
Oncativo: Victory for the Unitarios on February 25, 1830
The Unitarios wanted to centralize the government in Buenos Aires, while the Federales wanted to decentralize the government and respect the autonomy of the provinces.

1840 – 1852
