My first fantasy figure & my first use of Citadel contrast paints:

The figure is a custom made 3D print @ 20mm.

We've been using Lion Rampant for a few years & -perhaps foolishly – looked at Dragon Rampant & Oathmark. I've decided to build a force of half-orcs, Dark riders, Trolls & Wolf riders. They're LotR in style as I don't like cartoonish figures. I'll see if it clicks otherwise, I'll dispose of the army on Ebay.

Very nicely done

Looks good! Are you doing this in 1/72? Sounded like some Dark Alliance box sets from your description. I own a ton of their sets. I love them!

Thanks.

Dark Alliance is correct, John. If you buy the boxes direct from the Ukraine, they're surprisingly inexpensive.

I'm not entirely sure that I'll like Fantasy but I aim to give it a go. The Dragon Rampant rules are certainly 'Fantasy lite' & I'm more impressed by Oathmark. However, the members of the group who are even less fantasy-orientated than me, might be better off starting with DR.
