Seeing stuff on YouTube about GW flip flopping on female Space marines, custodes/emperor's guards.

Darth Vader keeps yapping about a recent book, citing he, his (or was it him? You get the point), and brotherhood as suggesting the are all male.

Apparently the book was written before females popped out of the males rib cages, but only published recently.

I think he, his, so on can mean both men or women.

The astronaut grabbed his helmet. Sounds fine, even though there are female astronauts.

And brotherhood may be referencing the hierarchy. Perhaps women are under them. I assume most modern brotherhood's would likely have women some where, even just the catering or cleaning staff.

I'm not sure where I sit with the idea, but I don't think those points are conclusive.

PS

Also these aren't normal space marines, but emperor's guards. I assume, probably wrongly, that the chapters came from them in some way. If anything like that, the the sisters of battle needed to come from some where also.

And if marines are to whatever extent part of the guard, why not sisters of battle.

Sisters of battle make things hard.

Get it?

How much will individual figures cost? 🤔

By the way, the incoherent misogyny is breathtaking. 👏

The H Man30 Dec 2024 11:12 p.m. PST

Cheers.

According to the film Krippendorfs tribe, you get this board thingy and measure their…

Tells you how many goats or what not.

I'd say you'd get a lot for a goat leg.

Apparently, another YouTube video, the book isn't even GW.

Thus it really means nothing.

"How long does it take you to shave those legs anyway?"

Indeed Axle, indeed.

I guess, they have space marines, then sisters of battle. Next necromunda and Escher. Now guards and babes (if you like beefy women).

So it is fitting with GW mentally, fractaly speaking.

How much will individual figures cost?

An individual Basic Trooper Custodian mini is $12.50 USD

They might be female but they have pointy gold helmets so we really don't know. The armor does not have over breasts, corsets, bare legs or butt cheeks.

I guess if you want females, nothing stops you

The H Man31 Dec 2024 5:48 a.m. PST

I suspect they may be lining them up to be storm cast eternals.

The two games will likely merge in some unholy union.

Then the old world will regain its crown while everyone is distracted.

There will likely be female figures, but it won't stop there.

After all once you have made every troop type ten times over, whats next?

Sadly they had the demonettes (there's another) perfect in metal. The ones with the multi br***ts, though I prefer the regular if forced to choose.

Then redid them with ghastly plastics.

Nice to see all the support for GWs new models.

The H Man31 Dec 2024 4:05 p.m. PST

Its odd that they go more adult with things, yet keep annoying adult players/collectors.

If your around 10 at the time of release, your sweet.

WFB been going a few years with an adult fan base?

Bother it, blow it up and replace it with tat for 10 year olds.

What else do 10 year olds need???

Oh, yeah, six breasted demonettes!!!???

It makes no sense.

I guess, as those demonettes came first (!), it may imply that GW was replacing an adult aimed game with one aimed at kids.

"Gold space marines, sweet (or a modern kids equivalent, maybe avo!, perhaps)"

Though I think a lot of adult stuff may still exist in AOS??? Cannibalism, so on???

And it's also good to see the Emperor employing women outside of the Sisters of Battle. Makes a lot of sense, and really opens up the sculpting possibilities. Should make for a lot more great figures in the coming years

Der Krieg Geist01 Jan 2025 8:58 p.m. PST

There are no female Space Marines, there are Sisters of Battle. There are no Female Cutodes, there are Sisters of Silence. There are female Inquisitors, female assassins, female Rogue Traders, female Tech Priests and female Imperial guard. Can we stop with pretending that females were or are under represented in 40K. The empty virtue signaling is getting vomit inducing at this point.

When GW decides there are, BAZINGA! There they are. 🤷

The H Man01 Jan 2025 10:56 p.m. PST

It gets worse, as now there's apparently an email leak mentioning upcoming minis.

I think alternate head was mentioned.

Not sure how that works?

I can imagine the jokes around the tables.

Win a tournament? Get handed a bud light.

Twisted sister had a slogan "look like women, sound like men." So there is that, but that would be more fitting for noise marines, as TS has been used as a weapon previously.

Make it Dee Snider's head, I think that may be the only way to turn this all around.

Get him in the new film/show? and all.

A lot of 40k fans are already chanting, we're not gonna take it," as it is.

PS it would be cool to see hair metal members as wolves, chaos, so on.

Someone buy Andy Chambers a wig too.

Brings up a thing. GW cameos??

John is spot on, GW can make up anything they like, they own the IP after all.

And as we keep circling around to – there were Female Space marine figures in 1988, they were in White Dwarf and all. And you can't get more official than that!

"If you know your history…then you know where you're coming from…."

Seems like the youngsters need to catch up on their GW lore…. evil grin

There are no female Space Marines, there are Sisters of Battle

I think the issue is that female portrayals are problematic. You get Bondage Nuns in corsets or Genetic Mutants that don't talk back.

With the exception of Astra Militarum there are no "just females"

The H Man02 Jan 2025 5:14 a.m. PST

Escher, are just females.

The 90s ones didn't have heels, which is rediculus given all the grating and such. Don't know how Donna wasn't on crutches.

They have crazy hair, but the clothing is pretty low key, practical attire. For getting hot and sweaty in the smelly underhive, at least.

Also had a female Spyre hunter? Armoured up from memory.

All fit, quick and the dead and all that.

Just like wrestler marines, front line women would have to be beefy or athletic. More average women would be the ones left home.

Large assassin's or gangers would have difficulty with all the running around they would be expected to do.

Same with the guys. Out side the odd non front line chap, where are all the average IG or marines?

There aren't any?? They have military standards. 'stealers catch the slow soldiers.

PS

If it's Jayne and Gabs your talking about, they are listed as Female warriors, not space marines, under the Adventurers line.

More likely, as would come to pass, they are sisters of battle, before being space marines.

PPS

Apparently they were sculpted and on sale before rogue trader, thus before space marines. They were gone, or moved from the "marine" line by the time space marines were a thing.

Also apparently, everyone in rouge trader had access to power armour.

So never listed as space marines and in genetic gear.

Quite – GW needs to move with the times or it risks losing some of the "power of the Christmas / birthday present" in selling some larger ticket price items. And it could also work on extending the appeal of the GW Hobby.

The H Man02 Jan 2025 4:18 p.m. PST

"You get Bondage Nuns in corsets "

"Quite – GW needs to move with the times"

?

That's contradictory.

So, Henry Cavill should hire Lily Phillips to "lead" 100, sorry, 1000 marines and GW can make the figures?

Is that right?

Is that modern enough?

Perhaps it's best to keep to the corsets after all.

Actually a lot of women wear such/similar things day to day. Its called fashion.
