The Canadian postal service had a strike but I heard it was over two weeks ago. And yet the US postal service still won't accept anything going to Canada! Anyone know why? |

I am seeing the same. My guess is that customs has asked USPS to stop until the backlog is cleared. And USPS doesn't want to intake any until they can forward them to Canada post. |

I am in Canada and things are slowly returning to normal. Remember it has been going on for nearly 2 months so there has to be quite the backlog to unjam. I have a lot of purchases pending but telling everyone not to even try until mid January. I suggest doing the same but let your Canadian customers know how USPS is handling things. BTW UPS, etc. are NOT an alternative as when they bring things into Canada the always charge taxes and duties (I only get nailed maybe 10% of the time by post) but put ridiculous "brokerage fees" of up to twice the value of the goods on. Total BS. |

Maybe the postal situation will improve if Canada is granted US statehood or territorial status. |

As a side note, Pulp Figures (Canadian co.) has shipped their Exogenesis figures just before Christmas and I received the package over the past weekend. |

If not the 51st state at least a customs/economic union. It would be so great to get access to US deals without the border issues and higher shipping rates. |

I'm Canadian and don't buy anything from the United States partially because of the exchange rate but mostly it's because the US postal rates to Canada are astronomical, normally twice as much or more than the item ordered. It's much cheaper to have items mailed from UK/Europe. |
ScottWashburn | 31 Dec 2024 12:10 p.m. PST |
@Glengarry5 Really? I ship a lot of stuff to Canada and the rates are only a bit higher than shipping things within the US. Certainly not any significant fraction of the price of the item. |
Glengarry5 | 31 Dec 2024 5:10 p.m. PST |
That has been my experience. For example, I made an order with Wargames Atlantic, which has warehouses in the USA. My order is being shipped to Canada from England, I can only imagine its because the postage is cheaper. |

@Scott, I was going to ship a $5 USD used hardback book (about the size of a VHS tape case) to a guy in Canada until we found out that the shipping was going to triple the purchase price, and that was years ago. |

I posted a package at the USPS local office today and they no longer had the not accepting ,ail to Canada signs anymore. The package was going to Canada and I had no problem posting it. |

No I totally oppose annexing Canada until we fully normalize relations with Cuba again. I don't mind flying to Vancouver for Cuban cigars, but Paris is too far, and you can't trust cigar labels in Mexico. |
