It was poor, Mr Moffatt either hits well (Blink, the Empty Child) – or misses like this episode.

I still can't believe he went from Coupling to this dreg.

Better than a lot of the previous Christmas Specials. And much better than many from this season just gone – The Beatles One, The Space babies, Boom, were all pretty dire….

The colourised (and cut to be more pacey) The Wargames was a nice Christmas gift too

2othmaine – Twas my favourite episode when I saw it as first aired. I would have been under 8 at the time.

Not sure why they are colouring them, except for dumb kids who should be taught better.

As long as the original is still available, that's the main thing.

The Christmas special was fun. Not the best but a good one.

I'd agree – far from the worst Christmas special mainly because it didn't overplay the Christmas special aspect! I didn't like the method of solving the combination lock TBH, seemed lazy. The actual bit in the normal hotel was quite touching though.

Forget Doctor Who in the New Year…
