I like the story as told in The Compact History of the Revolutionary War by T.N. Dupuy and R.E. Dupuy better and read it to my son several times at Christmas. Of course, they had an entire book and the opportunity to go into detail and talk about the retreat across New Jersey and the follow-on offensive to Princeton. Either way, it's a great story.

Hmmm . . . I have a copy of the Dupuy book around here somewhere--I think I'll go find it.

Great link… and yeah, that old guy— no question. He'd do it again, if necessary.
