You can't make a faithful film adaptation.
Film as tv use other underlying stories.
They can never be exactly like a book. At least as not in industry.
Many films are basically exactly the same as many others.
I'm not sure how far this goes with novels.
Giving awards for films that aren't like the novel are basically saying, you did a good job, because they can not be like the novel.
