"It's finally time for me to implement one of my favorite topics, the Napoleonic Wars in Northern Germany, as a tabletop game. I want to start with a smaller skirmish scenario, as these smaller skirmishes were typical for this setting of the Napoleonic Wars. The whole thing will be played in 28mm scale and with the "Rebels and Patriots" rules from Osprey Publishing. That's the plan, at least, but I'm not sure whether it will stay that way.


For my scenario, I chose the Battle of Damnatz on August 25, 1813, in which a troop of hunters from the Russian-German Legion, the Hanoverian hunter corps Kielmannsegge, hunters, fusiliers and horsemen of the Hanseatic League, as well as two British 2-pounder "galloper-guns" of the Hanoverian hunters, a force of around 300 men, crossed the Elbe from Dömitz and attacked the entrenched position of a company of the 48th French Line Regiment (around 120 men) in Damnatz…"
