At a wargame show in the early '80s there was a display game of The Bulge with snow terrain. First time I'd seen modelled snow. The game was big & attracted a huge crowd around around it (This show was always a crowded affair but this game was very impressive so extra push and shove to get to the front).
From somewhere behind me an older gentleman with a thick German accent spoke…"It didn't snow till the third day".

@ bobm it was always fun when that happened, sadly they're pretty much all gone now.
