have you put on or played in a game with a Christmas background. Maybe an historical Christmas attack? Maybe just crackers and hats for the players?

Two games that I have run with a Christmas background.

1). The Battle of Christmas Dinner.
Plastic Army Men fight for candy and other items across a table top terrain of paper plates, plastic cups and other dinnerware in order to bring back the food to their home plate. Rules by Andrew Dobbyns as part of his "Call of the Plastic" series of games

2) The Great Turkey Hunt which works for either Thanksgiving or Christmas gaming. French and Indian Wars Scenario that places Rogers Rangers, Native Americans and Couerer du Bois teams out searching the woods in an attempt to bring a bird home for the officer's mess. Fistful of Lead Rules by Wiley Games. A link to an AAR of a recent game is posted at link

Both games have been a hoot to run and watch played.

I have a skirmish game based on the figures by Killer B Games for their Blitzkringle game. I try to play at least once a year. Currently I'm expanding what I have to include the armies of Halloween.

I love their figures, but it doesn't look like Killer B is going to expand the range any longer.

I use all sorts of figures by different manufacturers. We've played scenarios including raids on Santa's warehouses, attempts to capture the list keeper, fight for control of the Christmas Tree Forest, etc. I just added some minions so pretty soon Gru will get involved.

A town assault at the Seven Years War Association Convention with a snow-covered board and teddy bear armies--in tricornes, of course.

I have hosted a whole series of annual games of Hordes of the Things featuring a big man dressed in red with a white beard, flying in a sleigh: link

I have a Santa Claus and elves, all armed with pistols, rifles and assault rifles, in a winter fantasy town at the North Pole. It is attack by Jack Frost and evil snowmen. Done it a few times and always fun.

We have an annual game of Dragon Rampant with a Christmas theme. Christmas Rampant has been a thing for 5+ years. Usually over 20 people play.

For many years I ran a special Christmas-theme massed fantasy battle where the objective was for the good guys to save or safeguard Santa Claus and the bad guys sought to stop Santa and take his sleigh of presents. The armies would be a wild mix of figures and units, using my home-brewed fantasy battle rules that date from the early 1980s. Santa himself or his representatives would even have their own special forces, like polar bears, weaponized toys, the polar Elves, animated snowmen, etc.

Every year the scenario and setting was changed, and a sort of continuity developed, e.g. if the Law army lost one year and santa was captured, the next year the game would begin with Santa in a castle prison or something and the Chaos army was seeking to prevent his rescue. Certain commanders and special characters might return year after year. Some games took place at the North Pole, in Christmastown, at Santa's palace and workshops when the baddies invaded. I must have put on several dozen of these over the years until house moves, relocations, and lack of available players disrupted the tradition.

PS: North Pole games were done in snow, of course, simulated in various ways (one year I poured a ton of coarse soap powder over a white cloth table cover). Lots of "Christmas" trees; I have a bunch of thematic buildings from craft store Christmas decor; gingerbread houses; candy cane forests; and a colorful Santa's Toy Factory.
