Will C Troop and the "Walking Soldiers" with two civilian groups survive being surrounded? Will the Burdette Gang be brought to justice? Will Trooper Riley and Lone Bear bring rescue from the fort? Will the 1876 war restart?

Excellent as always. And I just read an article about a massacre in the start of the Lakota Wars which should not have happened were it not for overzealous behavior following an incident which had been resolved to the satisfaction of everyone actually involved. And said massacre led to more unnecessary deaths on both sides, all from the folly of self-important men.
Looks like the command here is sadly following suit with history.

In any case, thanks for the Christmas present of a well-told tale!

Thank you Jurgen and Howard for taking the time to read the end of this unique story and for your kind remarks. For me it was also an enjoyable change to write a Western Drama populated with new personalities, their dialogue and how each coped with very dangerous circumstances photographed in Big Sky Country.
Merry Christmas Everyone,

Great story and photos. J.W. Vaughn did three fine books on the Sioux Wars. All worth reading.

Thanks for going to all the trouble to put this together.
