The Pentagon has categorically denied that claim. Given Iran has never sent individual ships that far without logistical support, I'm inclined to believe the Pentagon but it should be easy to prove if true as commercial satellites are quite capable of that level of precision and are open source. Also the ship was launched 3 months ago and that would seem a very short time to work up and train for an entirely new class of vessel and deploy effectively off a hostile coast half a world away. |

🤔 No it is not definitive. I will say this though. 1) We have been told for weeks that the government has no idea where they are coming from. 2) They have flown over military bases in multiple states. 3) we have been told they pose no threat. 4) the government lied to us about the Chinese spy balloons.. until they couldn't and were willing to let it fly over the US. 5) we were told a few days ago that they were not being flown by OUR government. Now with all the above. Does it seem logical that the US military would not shoot some down, if they are flying over our military bases? I guess it does if you compare these to what they did with the Chinese balloon. Add to this the other lies the government has told us were truths in the last 5 years. Just a small list: The President will not pardon his son. The laptop is Russian disinformation and not Hunter's. The President's daughter's diary was stolen. Trump and Russian collusion. Covid came from a wet market. Masks will protect you. The vax will keep you from catching the virus and from spreading it. The current President is not cognitively challenged and runs circles around others. The "Muslim Ban". The Chinese spy balloons. So aliens? 👽 Swamp Gas? US Military and a defense contractor. (If yes then just bloody say so!). A private company(would the government allow them over our military bases? Obviously not safe if no one knows who flying them or where they will go?) I hope they realize that some citizen with a weapon is going to bring one of them down. So it may not be Iranian. Maybe Chinese? But I'm skeptical of the pentagons response myself. |

Guys. They have RUNNING LIGHTS. Think about that. Okay, I'll help you. The key to effective espionage is NOT BEING SEEN. If you really want quality Intel, you do not want your spy drone spotted by the enemy. Therefore, of all the things you include which add mass to your drone (and thus reduce its range and time over target), NONE of these are RUNNING LIGHTS. Stealth and lights DO NOT GO TOGETHER. And running lights are also bad for your cameras— you wind up blinding the camera and especially any thermal or infrared capabilities it may have. The only light that makes any sense would be a high-powered spot to light up ground targets for a camera… but that screams "we're taking pictures." Which is dumb thing to scream when you don't have to. Therefore, it's quite clear that these are NOT enemy spy drones. They are either commercially sold private drones just messing around OR US military craft conducting night maneuvers as a test or as an overflight craft for security purposes. And that assumes these aren't just helicopters misinterpreted by civilians as being smaller than they actually are. The only reason you want lights on a military drone (ANY military drone) is to distract enemy eyes from your real Intel efforts. And I don't think that's what's happening here. |

"New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said the recent drones which have been sighted in the state are "very sophisticated," saying, "the minute you get your eyes on them, they go dark." In a Monday press conference, Murphy acknowledged public frustration about the recent surge of mysterious drone sightings but emphasized that authorities have found no evidence of a threat to public safety. "The most important point to say is we don't see any concern for public safety," he said, adding that local, state, and federal authorities, including the FBI and Homeland Security, are working together to uncover the drones' origins. Murphy disclosed that there were 49 reported sightings on Sunday, predominantly in Hunterdon County, though he noted some reports might overlap. "These are apparently very, as I understand it, very sophisticated. The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark," he said." …. Newsweek has contacted the governor's office via email for comment. "The sightings, which began last month, have alarmed residents and led to an ongoing FBI investigation. Drones have reportedly been spotted near the Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. military facility, and President-elect Donald Trump's Bedminster golf course. In response, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily restricted drone flights over these locations." Some are a big as living room tables or small car. |

"The large mysterious drones reported flying over parts of New Jersey in recent weeks appear to avoid detection by traditional methods such as helicopter and radio, according to a state lawmaker briefed Wednesday by the Department of Homeland Security. In a post on the social media platform X, Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia described the drones as up to 6 feet in diameter and sometimes traveling with their lights switched off. The Morris County Republican was among several state and local lawmakers who met with state police and Homeland Security officials to discuss the spate of sightings that range from the New York City area through New Jersey and westward into parts of Pennsylvania, including over Philadelphia. >Philadelphia news 24/7: Watch NBC10 free wherever you are The devices do not appear to be The dronees wereffffflown by hobbyists, Fantasia wrote. Dozens of mysterious nighttime flights started last month and have raised growing concern among residents and officials. Part of the worry stems from the flying objects initially being spotted near the Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. military research and manufacturing facility; and over President-elect Donald Trump's golf course in Bedminster. Drones are legal in New Jersey for recreational and commercial use, but they are subject to local and Federal Aviation Administration regulations and flight restrictions. Operators must be FAA certified. Most, but not all, of the drones spotted in New Jersey were larger than those typically used by hobbyists." |

Key points about military drone lights: Purpose: Primarily for safety and visibility, especially during night flights. Types of lights: Navigation lights (red and green), strobe lights, or beacon lights. Discreet design: Some military drones may have minimal or no visible lights to avoid detection. " |

But at night time you can intermittently see the drones, as they seem to turn on some sort of light and then off again. There might be two or three of them in the same patch of sky slowly moving around, which you see as they occasionally light up for a second or two and then off again. And then on again and off again. And then maybe off for a long period. It's a yellow orange light and seems bizarre to me. " |

Sal over at "What's Going On With Shipping" on YouTube published this video yesterday about the Iranian Motherships and the Jersey drones: YouTube link The basic point is that these ships are still in Iranian waters and are pretty well tracked. The last Iranian flotilla that came to American waters were shadowed the whole way by the USN and they were smaller, faster craft than these ponderous container ships which have been converted into 'drone carriers'. They are heavily modified civilian ships (they have flight decks) and are terribly easy to spot and shadow. They are not q-ships that can pretend to be container ships and slip off into the blue. They are also SLLLLOOOOWWWWW vessels (compared to modern warships), so it'd be really hard for them to give tracking satellites and shadowing warships 'the slip'.
Sal says that they've been geolocated off the Iranian coast within the last 24 hours by TankerTrackers, an open source shipping tracker. These drones are real, but they aren't flying off of Iranian motherships. |

I understand the argument that running lights would equate to benign intentions. The problem with that argument is that our government has already proven that it will not take action against visible "threats" to public safety, i.e., the ChiCom "weather" balloons. Why would the reaction to drones be any different? Why not take one down in order to study a mystery drone? If this was Alabama as opposed to New Jersey, duck hunters would already have "bagged" a few. I admit to a large degree of ignorance on the subject, however, can't "large" (6-foot) drones be tracked on radar? If a missile can be tracked, why not a large diameter drone? We have huge governmental entities dedicated to "protecting" us (Defense, Homeland Security and FAA to name the obvious), is it reasonable to assume that the mystery drones are truly a mystery? I'm not wearing my tinfoil hat, I simply do not accept the argument that these things are in fact unidentified. Alternatively, our next Pearl Harbor or 9/11 is going to be delivered via drone. In addition, there are thousands (millions?) of unidentified persons currently in the U.S. Is it not reasonable to assume that our enemies have taken advantage of our open borders to infiltrate intelligence/military assets who could acquire drones for surveillance and/or to test defenses? As we are apparently paying billions to Iran, they have the money to finance such operations. I don't buy the Iranian "mother-ship" argument because it is too easy to investigate and is much too complicated when there are likely assets already on the ground, driving Ubers or pumping gas in NJ. |

<chuckles at the image of the guys back home going *huntin* for drones> That's maybe why whoever is doing this chose NJ for their antics. I believe gun ownership is frowned upon and NJ doesn't have the hunting culture that you'd find in the South. At least, not as pervasive. But I have to wonder, there have to be some hunters in the Garden State, so why isn't it open season there? As for US radar, who knows. I don't believe that the US has much in the way of an ADA network beyond NORAD and their eyes are aimed further afield. I'm not sure that many civilian radars are powerful enough to go drone hunting or if Fed radar guys are even trained to hunt for them. We have a powerful set of 'airforces', so there isn't much of a need for overlapping ADA radar networks in CONUS. <shrugs> That last point is scary- millions of illegal immigrants who we have no idea about who they are and what their intentions are. Many of them are from China from what I've heard. It wouldn't take a lot to get a group of guys, train them, give them cash (or just Paypal or something), and scoot them across the border with orders to buy civilian drones and set-up observation posts near US bases. China has been buying a lot of farmland near US bases, so they may even have the legal ability to just park and do their thing. Hell, why bother with the illegal route? Just give 'em a tourist VISA and just overstay if necessary? I imagine a lot of the drones are goofy locals having fun and sneaking peeks at bases, airports, or the cute girl next door. But I have to wonder if some, maybe even many, are state actors gathering intel. A war is brewing and having eyes on to gather intel makes a lot of sense. Not a conspiracy theory, but just good intel work. |

If you watch the news(those sources not obsessed with DJT being the next Hitler) or read the news articles, you know this has been going on since at least October in the area. You know we are not talking small amounts of drones, but large amounts. You know that some are described as being as big as SUV's. Every federal and state agency claims not to have any knowledge of origin. Yet they can quickly tell us IT'S NOT IRAN. Military drones can and do have lights. These drones "can" be tracked. "Federal investigators said that on Nov. 30, drone detection systems at Vandenberg in Santa Barbara County detected the unmanned aircraft flying at an altitude of nearly a mile above ground level for almost an hour, with launch and return of the drone originating at Ocean Park, a public area near the base." The normal type of civilian drones are small (the Chinese National was able to hide his in his coat). Not the size of SUV's. You do not need an actual military ship to launch these, you could have them in any merchant ship with containers. They could be Iranians launching from neutral vessels or allies(Russia, North Korea, other ME countries or Muslim countries). You could also fly them one way to operatives already here. The Congressman was very convinced of his sources and seemed very concerned. The state and local governments are very concerned. The Biden administration has let unknown amounts of bad actors come over our borders. Untracked! If these were from private businesses, the state government of NJ would know it. How many of us even conceived that a small amount of terrorist, could and did hijack commercial airplanes and crash them into buildings killing thousands? (Yes I'm sure if you mentioned it before, you would be accused of wearing tinfoil hats 🙄). The federal government has lied to us on multiple occasions about things like this (Chinese Spy balloons are just some). So it seems logical to me that there are only two alternatives. Both of which mean our government is lying to us. 1) our government is running experiments. 2) enemies of our country are responsible. (Well unless the Brits are planning to take New Jersey back. 🤣). So maybe you should place those hats on. 😉 it doesn't take a big drone to kill lots of people, yet alone one's the size of SUV's. 🙈 Subject: NJ lawmaker calls on Department of Defense to 'immediately' probe mystery drone sightings

My guess is the DOD knows about this and no probe is needed – except in Congress, which is generally the case. I do not know how Van Drew knew about the mother ship off the NJ coast. Was he at the beach? Can he tell all those container ships apart? Does he have his own intel network? Who else confirms this? Maybe there is some sort of intel reason for not giving us more of a reassuring statement. Or some other intelligent reason. The ability of the Iranian Navy, such as it is, to conduct such a sophisticated operation at distance with the vessels they have is nil, IMO. With Syria collapsing, they may feel they need all 8 corvettes/frigates close to home. And then, there is the mission – what is is? We are already pretty nuts as a country thanks to social media cyber warfare, where we are most vulnerable. Are the drones collecting intel for Iran and the military just doesn't get it? But, not being there, I will await more news from somebody. |

Tort and others, did you listen to the interview of him? He gives who gave him the information. Why make something like this up? The current regime is toast. What advantages would he gain by lying? Also if you read my comments, you'll see I mentioned the government running experiments. But let me add 2. 1) If the government is running experiments, all they need say is: "They are US assets". Simple, does not reveal any details and eases civilian, local and state fears. Now please give me reasons why they would not. 2) in my above theories, I mentioned that no military ship would be necessary. A mother ship could be a merchant container vessel of any county. I've also given ways they might use them in the long run. But let's take Iran only, ignoring China, Russia and others. Iran fears the next President and what he may do to Iran. They have threatened to assassinate Trump for years. Areas Trump frequents are in this area. US military assets are in this area. Large population centers are in the radius of this area. It is convenient to the ocean. Iranian operatives could easily already be in this area. So if the US attacks Iran, or Israel hits their nuclear sites(stories out there today that they are planning to, by the way), Iran has scouted the areas thoroughly, picked out targets and now has the ability for a mass retaliation. This is why it is so imperative for our government to come clean and quickly. Look how easy it was for terrorists to infiltrate the US and perpetuate 911 and our government had absolutely no idea what was going on. Did this same government not lie to us about the balloons? So again, why would you so readily believe what they say officially? |

Sigh. Saw one of the "drones" filmed on news coverage last night. IT WAS A COMMERCIAL JET. It had wings, navigation lights, and the forward landing spots on. You could see the shape of the whole thing. Probably heading into Newark (the poor souls). *facepalm* I never said military craft don't have lights. I never said military drones don't have lights. I said that SPY drones won't have lights, except for very precise reasons. They certainly won't be using them constantly. Duh. YES the US does have domestic radar. Duh. Ever been to an airport? Ever heard of "traffic control"? What the heck do you think they use to track planes? And, yes, the US military has radar facilities all over the US. That includes every branch… including the Coast Guard. Iran's military capabilities are a JOKE. Their navy, to the extent it can be called one, is a pathetic, substandard mess. It's a paper Tiger to impress the Ayatollah into believing he has power he doesn't have. Yes, it's dangerous. So are all those idiots who fire machine guns straight up into the air when celebrating whatever nonsense spews from their Ayatollah's idiot lips. The real danger of Iran is that its leadership is made up of insane religious fanatics, who might shoot the munitions they do have off at anyone for any reason at all, and they're working on nuclear bomb. But their only real ability to threaten the US is from terrorist operatives smuggled across our borders. They have no ability to send functional spy drones to the US. Again, to the extent that there actually are "drones" harassing New Jerseyites, it's most likely either known but not commented on US military tests, or pranksters. I will allow for the very thin possibility of a two-bit "spy" operation using commercial drones to glean whatever feeble info they can. But I doubt that is happening. Most likely the bulk of these are normal aircraft being misinterpreted by people who up to now haven't ever bothered to look at what's been going on over their heads for years. |

There is also the fact that the drones hover in one place for hours longer than civilian versions are capable of." …. "New York Post reported: "Authorities — from [New Jersey] Gov. I just read that the DHS held a briefing for NJ lawmakers. At least one representative walked out, labeling the briefing as a waste of time. He claimed that DHS is taking the position that they have no idea who is behind the drones, where they are coming from or what they are doing. A NJ State Police ranking officer at the briefing stated that he had a chopper over one of the drones but decided not to follow it because of the perceived threat to the safety of the NJSP aircraft and crew. (So don't investigate a public nuisance because the officers may get injured doing their duty? Isn't that part of the job?) Perhaps it is time to put on my tinfoil hat and say that I believe there is a cover-up. Given the length of time that this has been going on, I simply cannot accept that our government is so oblivious so as to not investigate. U.S. Rep. Marjorie Tayor-Greene (cue lightning-rod) has stated that she believes that the DOD knows what is going on (nationally) and has decided to not inform the rest of us. She suggests that if the DOD does not know what is going on, at this point, then it is time for people to resign. (If this is all part of a government plan, they need a better cover-story than "we don't know and can't figure it out.) There was a time when I would have happily believed that our government knows what is going on and is actively protecting us and I do not have the need to know. I'm no longer willing to accept that I am being protected. There have been so many monumental screw-ups and gross negligence associated with the government that I am willing to accept that they really are clueless and disinterested. I do not want to be overly political, however, an example of the monumental negligence of the government are the open borders and the invitation to "displaced persons" to come to the U.S. because they do not want to fight (economically, socially, politically, militarily) for their own countries. Most of those people are coming from places that hate America to begin with. If any sitting government believes that open borders is a good idea in those circumstances, then it is not hard to accept that there is no interest in determining who is behind unidentified drones over military bases or elsewhere in the country. I have to go back to my original thought, bring in the Alabama duck hunters to sort this problem out. Having just escaped from 30 years in NJ, I would not hold-out much hope for Jersey hunters. There are still some "good'ol boys" in the Garden State, however, they are few and far between. |

Red Jacket +1 The news conference left me scratching my head. He contradicted everything that local, state and governmental officials have been saying and even the Coast Guard. He even said most of these are manned aircraft. 🙄 I see manned aircraft every night. They don't move like this. But maybe we don't have the right swamp gas. 🤔 maybe I've figured it out! DJT is practicing to use these to sweep in and grab illegals and then whisk them away back over the border. That has to be it! "American Eagles"🦅 We honestly deserve some competence from our government. 🙄 |

Dragon, I agree that is the other possibility. Imagine though, bad actors, using these to drop off chemical or bio weapons, not just explosives. Even the current Presidents party are starting to complain. This is more and more like the Chinese spy balloon incident. I guess I'm not the only one who found the press conference a cluster.
