Any guidance for distinguishing colors/features, readable in 6mm, for Panzer Grenadiers in the ETO, 1944-45?

Panzergrenadier uniforms were as for standard infantry but with grass green Waffenfarbe on the epaulettes and collar patches. This will not show up in 6mm scale. More obvious would be the increased use of camouflage uniforms from early 1944 onwards though by no means universally. Also, in the Panzer Lehr division, the grenadiers wore the special uniform for armoured crews which was basically the Panzer uniform but in field grey. The latter two might show up in the smaller scales.

I generally just do PGR in camo tops and helmets in 6mm. It is pretty impressionistic at that scale. Light grey with a few blobs of green and brown stands out as a sort-of-splinter, or if you want to do SS, one of the brownish based patterns (autumn oak leaf or whatever).

As artilleryman says, you aren't going to be able to see their waffenfarbe!

I doubt very much if even the cleverest painter in 6mm is going to be able to show anything beyond the uniform colour.
Field grey for everyone, except a stab at camouflage fot SS, should do it
