Following up on this post from 2022:

Here are the current periods in the Line:

The current Poll Topic is, "where would you like to see future expansions go?"

Keep in mind, in an interview with a Warlord Games Representative it was stated that they would probably only cover historical periods where soldiers mainly fought shoulder to shoulder as the current lines depict.

That being said, feel free to vote for whatever your fancy is.

My current top picks are:
1) Macedonians & Successors
2) Classical Greeks
3) Achaemenid Persians
4) A more extensive line of Celts
5) Dark Ages Shieldwall Armies (my Longshot vote).

Cheers.

1,5 for me.

I actually think that there's a good chance they veer off to doing Colonials (probably Sudan or Zulu War) or even Seven Years War before returning back to Ancients. Warlord seems to have kind of a haphazard and random planning process for what will be produced next.

1-3 would essentially fit in the same lineup.

It will be Romans, Hail Caesar and all that done tiny.

Would love Russo-Japanese War or Crimean War.

WSS or the SYW fits that bill nicely and the market is not yet saturated with figures for the periods.

Pony Wars or the Sudan for me; a Crimean range would be great but I suspect too niche.

"1-3 would essentially fit in the same lineup."

Yep! And you could use the Macedonians for multiple wars against the currently produced Republican Romans!

I would not get my hopes up for some of the more obscure but fun ideas here. Considering the formula, these are unlikely. First and foremost, so far the formula works around "all right everyone, form a nice line two ranks deep" :). Looked at a different way it is "How can we get the most units for the fewest sprues." I don't see that working for Pony Wars, Sudan, etc.

Then when you look at ACW and Push of Pike, you are dealing with a basic sprue of infantry and a basic sprue of cavalry, with artillery and commanders sprinkled in, where the sprue works for the bulk of units on either side, those two sprues forming the bulk of the armies of both sides. Napoleonics got more attention, but I think the much wider support base justified more sprues. So with that in mind, WSS or SYW fits the formula nicely. Maybe Macedonians and Successors, but I do not see it working well for Republican Romans due to the wide variety of Carthaginian units. OK, you could put some of each on one sprue, but your units would be small. Shield walls? Perhaps. Classical Greeks would work.

So right now you have two "line up and shoot" periods and one "line up and poke" period. My money would be on another line up and poke period.

AWI or an expansion of the Napoleonic range seem most likely to me.

I was hoping Marlboroughian next. I look at the ACW and Napoleonic bayonets thinking how thin and breakable they seem. Then I look at my 30YW Epic with no bayonets and the chunky look of the clothes works well for strips. Keep it pre or early 1700's Marlboroughian. Otherwise, Dark Ages maybe for me for next. Nothing else will get me spending/collecting at this point.

Wake me up when they get around to WSS or SYW.

WoFun does SYW and WSS in 18mm and SYW in 10mm too. All in bright uniforms, no painting necessary, just snap them onto the provided stands. I love that company.
I'm too old to paint big armies anymore.

"This is EPIC!!!"

Zulu wars.

I could see sci fi , as both Mantic and GW have their epic scale stuff.

And fantasy, beating them both to the punch.

Stone age would be good. You could have herds of mammoth to hunt.

Japanese samurai wars would be cool. You could reenact Where's Wally?

Get the LOTR licence. Or similar.

Too bad they lost the Dr Who licence. Cough, mismanagement, cough.

I echo what smithsco said….I'm hoping for AWI, oh man that would just be a dream come true!
