It's damn beautiful. No editing or special effects. The pilot is a real virtuoso.

Holy Crap!! I sure hope the USA has aircraft that can match or better that flying ability!! That thing performs like a futuristic space ship out of a SciFi movie!!

And yet it cant seem to achieve air superiority over Ukraine after 1,000 days?! The complete ineffectiveness of the Russian Air Force, flying these planes, has been one of the revelations of the war. The free world appears to have nothing to fear from an SU-57 with a Russian pilot.

Cuprum222 Nov 2024 11:56 p.m. PST

And where and when did NATO planes achieve superiority? In attacks on shepherds?))) Oh wait… Even with the Houthis you couldn't do anything.

And how many victories does your fifth-generation fighter have?

Hopefully, we will not see a head-to-head with the SU-57 and a F-22. But the way things are going…

Cuprum223 Nov 2024 6:18 a.m. PST

Let's hope that these planes will only have to compete at air shows. As for the situation in the world… Well, I think that God will return reason to politicians, for the sake of preserving the world he created. At least, I will hope for it.

I was at the "gathering of eagles and legends" in 2007 at Rickenbacker Air Force Base, Columbus, Ohio. It was a salute to the P51 Mustang pilots(last for many.😔). Wonderful show with over 80 P51's and many WW2 veterans.

Anyway, they also had the most modern US fighters performing too. I don't remember if it was the F22 or F-35B Lightning II. Anyway, it performed much the same Demonstration. It even looked like it stayed in place and the pilot did a four point flip, staying in each place for a short time and then taking off from what looked like he was dead in the water, to amazing speed almost immediately. First time I'd seen vectoring jets being used. I was so amazed, I didn't even film it!

It's always amazing to watch them do these things. 🙂

Those maneuvers are amazing and stuff…but I do have to wonder about the combat applications of them….

Tom Cruise movies aside… wink

Let's hope the Chinese didn't take this opportunity to steal Russian technology. Planes like that could cause the Russians difficulty on their eastern frontier.

Inch High Guy23 Nov 2024 3:10 p.m. PST

A very impressive performance!

Cuprum223 Nov 2024 3:32 p.m. PST

PzGeneral, I'm not a pilot, and it's hard for me to judge how important maneuverability is in modern air combat. But it seems like this guy knows more about air combat than I do:

And now a little more about crazy Russian pilots. I accidentally came across this video yesterday – a pair of MiG-29s are dancing. The interesting part starts somewhere around 1.5 minutes:

microgeorge23 Nov 2024 4:25 p.m. PST

Keep in mind these are low speed maneuvers. Impressive, but most fixed wing combat takes place at high speeds. Still impressive.

microgeorge23 Nov 2024 4:28 p.m. PST

Maneuver at high speed is what counts. Also sensor quality, weapon quality, and pilot quality. Not a pilot but I've been in the industry for over 40 years. Yeah, I'm old.

America will win.

Definitely impressive performance. Was there more at the beginning that wasn't on the video or was that the whole demo. It was short if so.

Cuprum, our 5th gen aircraft haven't had to shoot anything down yet because our 4th gen have been superior.

Cuprum224 Nov 2024 8:37 p.m. PST

Oh… The last video with the is a hoax… Those were large-scale models.
Here is a real MiG-29

I didn't say your planes or pilots are bad. But I would like to see something like this in their performance. Is there a video?

microgeorge, the Su-57 now holds the world record for the longest range to destroy an enemy aircraft in a dogfight. It shot down a Ukrainian MiG-27 at a distance of 217 km with a R-37M hypersonic missile. I think you need to have sufficient technical equipment to do something like that.

Viper guy Supporting Member of TMP24 Nov 2024 10:02 p.m. PST

Airshows over your airfield for 15 minutes until your run out gas don't win air wars. And range of an air to air missile is irrelevant if the radar cross section of the target is too small for it to detect.

Out of curiosity, what is the largest strike package ( number of aircraft)
your Air Force has flown at one time against ant target set in Ukraine?

Cuprum225 Nov 2024 2:56 a.m. PST

I think it will be difficult to obtain reliable information now, since there is an information war going on. It is possible to "catch" only fragments of information from public messages:

Attack of the strategic aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Navy on Ukraine on November 17, 2024

11/17/2024
Author: Sergey Nakhimov

According to reports from specialized monitoring TG channels, on November 17, at 4 am (Moscow time), a massive missile attack by Russia on military and energy facilities in Ukraine began, using strategic aviation, the Navy, and ground-based operational-tactical ballistic systems. Over the past two months, this is the most massive attack by Russian high-precision weapons of air, land, and sea basing on strategic enemy facilities.

A total of 23-24 heavy strategic bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces and about 120 high-precision missiles of various types were involved. According to preliminary data, the missile attack by high-precision weapons of the Russian Federation lasted 2 hours and 14 minutes.

The Black Sea Fleet, multi-role fighters with Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, Iskander-M ground-based OTRKs and traditionally Geran kamikaze drones also joined the strikes on Ukrainian military and energy facilities.

At 4 a.m., 10 Tu-95S/MS strategic aviation aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces took off from two airfields, and later their number was increased to 15 units. Also, at this time, 4 Tu-160M White Swan supersonic bomber-missile carriers were noted in the sky.

The first launches of Kh-101 missiles from the strategic aviation of the Russian Aerospace Forces took place between 6 and 7 a.m. (Moscow time). It is reported that airfields and air defense systems of the enemy in the Kyiv region were hit, as well as an as yet unknown bunker in Kyiv.

Russia also struck military and energy facilities in Odessa with long-range precision weapons. Romanian authorities reported a cruise missile in their airspace, and Poland raised its tactical aircraft into the sky.

The use of 9-A-7660 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missiles from six MiG-31K aircraft was reported. Black Sea Fleet ships used Kalibr and Onyx missiles against the enemy. There is also information about the use of 3M22 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles against Kyiv.

The list of settlements and regions in the area (or in which) the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Black Sea Fleet hit targets included Kramatorsk, Pavlograd, Nizhyn (Chernihiv region), Dnepropetrovsk, Krivoy Rog, Chornomorsk (Ilyichevsk, Odessa region), Odessa, Zaporizhia, Lyubotin (Kharkiv region), Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region, Ternopil region, Lviv region, Zhytomyr region.

By 12 noon (Moscow time), the targets of the strikes became known, which mainly hit the strategic energy structure of Ukraine. The enemy recorded "hits" on the Dnieper, Kremenchug and Burshtyn hydroelectric power plants, on the Krivoy Rog thermal power plant, on the bridge over the Kremenchug reservoir near Cherkasy, as well as on the Mukachevo substation, which is responsible for most of the electricity flows between Ukraine and the EU.

Among the military targets hit were the airfield in Starokostiantyniv, NATO military warehouses in the Odessa region, air defense systems in the Kyiv region, the airfield in Myrgorod in the Poltava region and the main rear support bases of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Zaporizhia region, as well as many weapons production workshops in different parts of Ukraine and railway substations.

Well congrats Cuprum. I hope you're happy that your military has successfully destroyed large portions of the Ukranian infrastructure as well as inflicting a lot of civilian casualties. Hoping that when Trump assumes office he can stop this carnage.

Cuprum225 Nov 2024 6:22 p.m. PST

Hmm, I'm probably as happy as you were when your army destroyed the infrastructure of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and other regimes and nations you don't like…
Russia doesn't shoot at civilian targets unless they are used for military purposes – if only because it's too expensive. There are more than enough military targets. But if there are almost 200 attack missiles, several hundred combat drones and an even larger number of anti-aircraft missiles in the air at the same time – then damage from such a confrontation in the air among civilians is inevitable. All damaged or missing weapons will fall somewhere…
Russia isn't doing anything that you yourself weren't doing just recently…

microgeorge26 Nov 2024 6:18 a.m. PST

Those were screwed up affairs too thanks to Clinton, Bush and Obama. I hope history is not kind to them. Russia's sin is not justified by what three U.S. admins did. It just makes it worse. I hope Putin has a room in hell across the hall from those three presidents. Stalin will be nearby.

Cuprum226 Nov 2024 6:49 a.m. PST

It's easy for you to say this when you are not responsible for your people and the whole world… Let God judge them.

microgeorge26 Nov 2024 4:19 p.m. PST

I am only making observations, not judgements. God will judge all of them. And no, it's not easy to write that my nation has really screwed things up that last few decades.
