I'm wondering in the vast world of plastic 1/72 20mm scale, what French figures convert most easily to Italians, Saxons, Westphalians, etc. Airfix? Esci? Hat? Waterloo 1815? Zvezda? Strelets?

I know others have done. Just curious

Stepped out of plastics a while back, but I remember Airfix French come in the Bardin uniform, which matches the cut of many of the satellite armies.

Good luck!

Robert +1. Any French troops wearing the Bardin cut uniform should make for some easy conversions, at least 1812 or later. When I finally get around to it, I'll be using HaT 8041 for Saxon infantry. link

The Italian army used the same basic coats as the French, so the HaT8095 1807-12 Infantry are good for them. Likewise the Swiss and various other Foriegn legions and corps eg Irish, Croats etc

Bardin uniformed French are good for Saxons, Westphalians, Hessians and Cleve-burgers as well as Neapolitans. Italeri, Waterloo and HaT all do the 1812+ French.

You can get ready made Wuttemburgers and Bavarians from Strelets and HaT and ready made Saxons pre 1810 from HaT.
