Oof—this was a tough project. Figure design has improved a lot in modern times, but I like a challenge, and I really wanted to see these guys approximate what Minifigs intended when these were released decades ago.

Now if I hated Minifigs I wouldn't have even bothered. The truth is, I love these little bastards. Speed paints made the job quicker but probably not better. You be the judge:

Glad you took the time and expended the effort to save them. They look great and I hope they perform well on the tabletop.

I remember the challenge of cleaning Minifigs 15mm figures all too well. You did a fantastic job! They do indeed look great.

They may have been a bit of a pain, but they look fine (and suitably nasty). Nice collection all around complete with interesting history!

Most excellent! Fine brass wire can pretty easily substitute for the overly flexible lances.

Lovely work. The initial cleanup of the figures would almost have been enough to put me off.

Well executed, Peter!

Glad to see someone else likes the old guys.

Ah, the Blue People of the desert! Always enjoy seeing the Tuareg in action. My Colonial gaming is all 25mm but I appreciate the work on these littler guys. Sounds awful. Some of those MiniFigs 25mms are bad enough! But I also have a great fondness for that company and still have thousands of their product in my armies, since they were the best around back in the olden days. Or the only company making the figures for periods I collected.

What is "The Sword in the Desert" and how is this TS&TF variant different from "The Sword in North Africa"? This latter has always been my go-to set of TS&TF rules for the Foreign Legion vs. Arabs.

I think they must be the same thing piper909
