Conversationally, this thread is thoroughly shattered. Which "it" is everybody referring to? The original topic of the thread, or the SF hijack?

It depends on how you interpret the meaning of the thread. I understand it to be people posting what they are reading for whatever comments may come their way. I expect a dedicated conversation about X book to be in the page of the specific historical era.
