A report of the most dramatic naval engagement off the coast of Malaya is now available. The game used 1/3000th scale miniatures and the Naval Thunder rules. For those interested it can be found here: link

Excellent game report, on a very interesting "What if?". Churchill had sent both ships of the line in the hope of deterring Japanese attacks in the region. That they got defeated by inferior Kongos is really interesting, especially since NT is a fairly accurate set of rules. Curious about what a refight would give. Thanks for sharing. |

Foxbat, thanks for your feedback. In part I think the decision (by the British commanders) to not reinforce Force Z with a heavy cruiser and keep the destroyers back were contributing factors. Kongo's damage was increasing and she didn't score a single hit after the loss of her main fire control – which was early in the engagement. Some of the background can be found here: link |
