These are from Victrix, based for "O" Group. I opted for historical basing over what is supplied in the rules. The figures are painted to represent panzergrenadiers in the Italian campaign. They could be used for Sicily and even Tunisia, though I don't think the germans were using confiscated Italian camouflage material yet for those battles. at some point this weekend, I'll be posting a YouTube tutorial on the process.

Well done! I'm very tempted by Victrix 12mm

Ryan, what are your thoughts moving from 15mm for 12mm? what prompted the shift and do they feel that different on the table?

Ryan Rabies15 Nov 2024 11:56 a.m. PST

I didn't move from 15 to 12mm, I'm doing both! Yay! I just liked the look of the Victrix figures and I had a bunch of Italian terrain that was supposed to be 15mm, but it really looks more like 10 or 12mm. Don't let the 3mm size difference fool you, either. The 12mm are much smaller. So it does increase the size of the table. I find that makes it less congested and a little more realistic. That's just a personal preference, though.

This is the same excuse I keep telling myself – my existing terrain works for either scale, it's all good. I also have the added sunk cost of 1/144 aircraft I already own adding some tortured logic to the excuses.

The jury is still out on whether I should keep my microarmor.

Those are amazing paint jobs, well done. They could easily be 20mm.

Still some of the best looking infantry stands, regardless of scale, I have ever seen. Well done sir!

Very nicely done, especially considering the scale. I'm really impressed by the basing – it looks just right for an arid Mediterranean landscape.
