Dozens gathered on Veterans Day at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad state park in Maryland's Dorcester county for a formal ceremony making Tubman a one-star brigadier general in the state's national guard…

Actually, I think its a bunch of useless virtue signalling by modern politicians. I admire Harriet Tubman, and this is not a knock at her by any means. Its a knock at modern politicians.

At first blush, it seems to be a typical politician move. I think "Captain of Scouts" would be more appropriate. I'll have to think on it, but I don't see a general's star. No doubt she was a brave lady and worthy of recognition.

It's a State thing so not like a real General

Is this like Star Wars OT, where everyone becomes a general?

Tibbles Good one. 😂 "Mesa General! Yoosa should follow me now, okeeday?" A little Star Wars humor. 🙂

Oh, please!!! I have always felt she has been over rated for what she really accomplished.

Wonderful recognition. Well done, Maryland.

I'd happily see Fort Huachuca renamed after her, but what do you do with a posthumous promotion? Pull rank on other dead generals?

"I have always felt she has been over rated for what she really accomplished."

Grattan, that hasn't stopped a lot of other people from making general.

What is the effective date of her promotion?

Another stupid revisionist move by woke politicians.

I was wondering her date of rank as well.
