Dead as one can make their own using other poses. |

That green plastic army man all curled up, limbs akimbo, was supposed to be hanging in the barbed wire rolls. That one and the army man making a karate chop and the two stretcher bearers who look hunched over like zombies, arms hanging down at their sides, stumbling along, when not actually carrying the stretcher. And the guy getting shot, all spazzed out, helmet flying off. I had friends who used those weirdos as their general figures, just to be wise-arses. |

In order of irritation 1) Anything with thin items sticking out because they will a) break off b) make packing troops difficult 2) Horses in extreme/unstable poses same reasons as above 3) So many different poses it's impossible to make a unit look like anything but a rabble [I realise this is period/scale dependent and some were rabbles, but Napoleonic troops had drummers and marched in step so at least get the legs right!] |

Yes. Gauls, Vikings and Apaches are not Grenadiers of the Guard. And vice versa. |

Prone, marching and kneeling (in this order) |

@deserter Prone and kneeling definitely, but what's wrong with marching, to me that's the most useful figure. |

Least useful foot, charging with level rifle or prone in pre-1900. Horse as was said, two legs off ground. |
