One last one to share some of the techniques which are not new to most of us, on the two battles previously blogged. Please let me know if you have any questions. Its all fun and easy things to do IF you have the time and space. Enjoy the pictures.

Well done, great looking! How does the white styrofoam hold up durability wise? I was under the impression that it's too soft without some form of reinforcement. IIRC, Bruce Weigel used to cover his with muslin (?) and then felt.

Hello Bob. I used a lot of white foam as you can see. It was all reinforced with Spackle mixed with sand. The trick is that soft foam will warp so notice I didn't use wood bases on those hills, but used the hard rigid pink and blue foam that so far has not warped at all. I had to keep the terrain as light as possible for traveling. And of course I used the white foam under the mat for the contours. Sometimes to cover my smaller hills I will use the premixed colored grout found at your local Hardware store. Hope that helped. Dan
