Well done, great looking! How does the white styrofoam hold up durability wise? I was under the impression that it's too soft without some form of reinforcement. IIRC, Bruce Weigel used to cover his with muslin (?) and then felt. |

Hello Bob. I used a lot of white foam as you can see. It was all reinforced with Spackle mixed with sand. The trick is that soft foam will warp so notice I didn't use wood bases on those hills, but used the hard rigid pink and blue foam that so far has not warped at all. I had to keep the terrain as light as possible for traveling. And of course I used the white foam under the mat for the contours. Sometimes to cover my smaller hills I will use the premixed colored grout found at your local Hardware store. Hope that helped. Dan |
