A maximum of 3-5 regiments per side. Ability to detach a single company for flanking etc.
I'm asking those who have done it. What rules did you use, and other relevant details. I'm asking for rules that are not designed for massive battles, like Gettysburg itself, but much smaller battles, or segments of battles.
Obviously figure availability is not an issue.

Are you looking at this as a two player game?

I imagine regimental Fire and Fury would work.

I know you like TSATF; have you considered using that? 5 or 10 figure companies with 50-100 figures per regiment. Companies act on the regimental card until they detach themselves from the parent unit.

Black Powder works as well. You just scale it down.

I would have to borrow friends' 15mm figures, which are already based.
This is just a thought I had. I never got into 25/28mm ACW, because I saw it as a bottomless pit.

The Sword and the Flame version for the Civil War I believe is "A Glint of Bayonets"

Rebels and Patriots. Just replace each individual miniature with a base of troops. Would take a few hours rules in regard to formation and unit cohesion distances.

Agree that Rebels and Patriots would fit John's criteria.

Interesting. I'll have to check out R&P.

I have run it several times with Regimental Fire and Fury. You can always make a scenario rule for detaching one company.

Another vote for R&P as a great game for any battle size.

Replace single figures with group stands, define troop ratio and command level as desired.
