Well, sort of Killiecrankie…the Williamite forces only had about half of their historical force which made it a bit more even on paper.
The Williamites had 5 pike and shot battalions to the Jacobites 6 highlander units and one pike and shot unit (Purcell's Irish). Despite being outnumbered in the scenario (which they were not in the actual battle), they had more army points than the Jacobites. It was a back and forth affair that saw the Jacobites come close to breaking their opponents during the initial charges. However, as the Highlanders lost steam they were slowly worn down and by turn 7 the Williamites were able to claim a "fair victory". The rules played great. I thought they handled the Highlanders rather well. Tercios has become one of my favorite rulesets and the best pike and shot set I have come across (and I've purchased nearly all of them).
