Great War Miniatures, available from North Star Miniatures, has a very decent line of both early and late war 28mm metal figures.
However, there are no French figures offered. Any thoughts or precise knowledge why the French figures have not been available over the years?

In my haste I missed mentioning that not later war French.
And the whole uniform changes also so the early figs are not practical to modify.

Thanks for you observation

Eureka makes a line of 28 mm Greek evzones. At this time evzone officers were transferred around frequently, so they didn't bother buying the evzone uniform, wearing their standard Greek infantry officer's uniform instead. The Greek uniform was very much French inspired, and the Eureka Greek officers look like French officers. So far as I know, the only difference was that the buttons on the Greek tunic were covered by a flap of the tunic. Just paint on the tunic buttons and you have a unique French officer. I have several of these serving with my Foreign Legion units.
