Brace yourselves: The movie studio that made oceans into battlefields more than two decades ago is poised to do it again. Military: link |

Definitely of interest. I liked the first film, and love the novels. A prequel seems like a solid choice. |

This would be very cool. "Master…" was a brilliant evocation of the era with great acting and incredible action sequences. I was very upset that the money guys wouldn't allow a sequel although it should have been anticipated. Here's hoping they can get it made while I'm able to see it. Onward through the Fog with hope the Phantom isn't in it! |

Been hearing rumors for awhile. It is going to go back more to the beginning and obviously will have to start over with the cast. The original is one of my top 10 favorites. |

Having read all the books I thought the casting was fantastic, even down to the minor characters – Killick particularly was just as I imagined him. My only qualm was that I thought they could have picked a better storyline from all of the books. The film (I think derived from 2 books) seemed a bit cobbled together to me, though still thoroughly enjoyable. Would love a sequel. |

I'd certainly watch it. I was a fan of the Hornblower books & series and really enjoyed "Master and Commander". I'd welcome it 100% |

I just hope that they pay the same attention to the historical detail. It was the culmination of all that effort by Peter Weir over the 'small things' that was one of the factors that made the film so good. |

So, we have a studio head massaging/developing a picture deal with a script. No director. No announced cast. No projected date for start of pre-production. IF, it ever gets made, it must first claw its way out of development hell, go thru several candidate directors who will enter then leave the project over scheduling issues or creative differences, announce, then lose several cast groups, lose the studio head, with the new one wanting a new script, yadda yadda yadda. By the time it's due to start shooting, a director with 7-8 TV commercials will be chosen to helm the project, with a candidate cast of Timothy Chalamet, Tom Holland and Joaquin Phoenix vying for the affections of Anya Taylor-Joy on a mission on land to save money on the budget, and you'll be relieved when it fades into oblivion alongside the Witcher, Good Omens 3 and Blade 4. |
