link Some partisan hack in the Government who disagrees with our own policy, or the policy of any Allie's we are cooperating with will see this happen. This also applies to any nation who thinks we have their back with a nuclear umbrella. They had best be on their own, and act as if our guarantees aren't worth a bucket of warm . It doesn't even have to be an ideological difference by the perp. Could be money too. |

This will continue until someone gets the balls to assign consequences to people's actions. The person that did this should be tried for treason and thrown into jail forever, or executed for being a spy! Until the punishments are harshly applied, this will continue. |

Of course, no one with any sense would believe that the US offers anything like complete assurance to its allies. How naive. Do you not think that the US would sell *any* ally down the river if it meant a mote of benefit to itself? The best your foreign allies can hope for is that the allied countries' welfare & the US's welfare will coincide. However, that isn't what this thread is about. I'm assuming the US has some sort of 'Official Secrets' Act'? In which case, a public servant who transgresses will be prosecuted? I suppose the FBI (?) is looking into it. So, case in point, this 'leak' will be investigated & hopefully "plugged". This dishonourable & disloyal official should be gaoled. Keep in mind, this perpetrator is hardly the first traitor in US history. Benedict Arnold, anyone? General Wilkinson? Jefferson Davis? The Rosenbergs? Are any of the current American Putin-lovers you read about traitors & capable of leaking secret information? |

Back in the Day, I was the TMP Grammer, and, Speling Facscist. My particular emphasis was on Apostrophe Abuse. Thus my shame. One of the reasons I admire Stannis Baratheon was his strict "less and fewer" attitude. In the books, he never burned his precious daughter. Yet. 🙄 Ahem. What *I* think this thread's emphasis is about is how this makes the world mistrust American assurances. Executing the perp is necessary, but secondary. Perhaps public beheading? |

It would be a valid assumption to believe some of these chaps are on the Kremlin's payroll? I would not think your Hamas-loving, leaking public servant is on a pay-roll – just an enthusiast. I should say I have absolutely no problems, in a democracy, of people showing support to just about any one (apart from the England cricket team – there are limits) but betraying your oath of secrecy to pander to your proclivities is IMO a low act. Some time in one of your harsher gaols seems an appropriate punishment. |

Who benefits? The intel was not specific. Low level perp maybe. Who is hurt by this? Mainly Harris I think. Our allies will not be looking to ditch us just yet. It's always good to stay friends with the world's biggest economy and military. |

Wasn't there a POTUS briefing file on an US Ally's nuculear capability and projected operational usage? (France) This file was in someone's house in the US state of Florida. Someone's son went to do chit-chat with the Ruzzians. Shortly afterwards the Ruzzians crossed the border. |

When I was in college I took an entry level Poli Sci class. The first lecture, the Professor opened his remarks with the following sentence: "American Foreign Policy has, for as long as America has engaged with the world as a credible world power, been, insofar as generalizations can be made on the subject, immoral." I INSTANTLY decided to drop the class. Not because I disagreed, but because I could not stomach the idea of sitting through a full semester of listening to such an overblown gas bag suffering from an addiction to apposative clauses. There is an internet pundit who describes international relations as a global poker game at which everyone is cheating. No one in their right mind should really trust anyone. To the US'credit, most of our "betrayals" are more the result of screw ups or failures of foresight. The Kurds and Yazidis have ample reason to distrust us, but repeatedly do throw their lot in with us as a bad option is better than no option. |

It would be a valid assumption to believe some of these chaps are on the Kremlin's payroll? Could be, but we have pro-Iranian fools embedded in the US government which is more likely. And if the Israelis are canny about this, they know and leaked bogus plans to see how Iran reacts and confirm that the US cannot be a trusted intel partner, and to set up their real attack. |

I think part of the problem is the current US top leadership, elected and appointed. They man not really seem to understand, IMO, their priorities are off. As I have said many times, previously, National Defense coupled with the economy, as they do have a sort of a synergistic affect. Those should be #1. But at this point it may be too late. If the next POTUS is who I think it will be. Everything in Congress will be a knife fight. And some stop the new POTUS from trying to get things done. American citizens are dying from decisions made by our leaders. But it does not affect them so … The minions suffer… again … |

When I was in college I took an Eastern European history class. The Professor told us that Churchill and Stalin, during a break in the discussions at the Yalta Conference, informally and surreptitiously penciled out an agreement as to their relative spheres of influence in post war Eastern Europe. Churchill conceded that Poland would be primarily a satellite of Russia. One of his aides remarked to him that it was to be expected that such an arrangement would result in a nightmarish existence for the Poles. According to the Professor, Churchill's response was, "You weren't planning to live in Poland after the war, were you?" |

Will this administration find the offender? I'm still waiting for; Who left cocaine at the White house? Who left the pipe bomb near the DNC HQ? Who leaked information about the Supreme Court? Who is on the Jeffrey Epstein client list? Why did the FBI figures show a violent crime decrease 2.1% and now the agency says there was a 4.5% rise? |

Easy: Who left cocaine at the White house? "Investigators believe that the cocaine was most likely left by a tourist or visitor. There were tours on the day the drugs were found, as well as on each of the two preceding days". No need to look for some silly conspiracy theory- Occam's Razor. Who left the pipe bomb near the DNC HQ? link Lots of violence in the US.Glad niether the V-P nor the ex-Pres. got injured. Who leaked information about the Supreme Court? "Curley and her team interviewed "almost 100 employees" – 82 of whom had access to the draft opinion. Despite those efforts, the "team to date has been unable to identify a person responsible by a preponderance of the evidence," the court said. The investigators will continue to follow up on a few outstanding leads, the statement added". "Secret" information a 100 people knew? Seems to me security was poor from the get-go. Who is on the Jeffrey Epstein client list? link A couple of interesting names, including two former presidents! Why did the FBI figures show a violent crime decrease 2.1% and now the agency says there was a 4.5% rise? link So a small rise, even if the results are skewed by COVID-data. |

Tort, as you know, "fact checks" are based on "whose side that fact checker supports". 😉 How many times have I put up with that. (Fox!!?? 😱🙈🙉). CBS? Come on. Do I need to bring up 60 minutes and the VP interview and rewrite? The Johnson rewrite? We will never know who leaked the Supreme Court information that time, or the last leak. Well… that is if the current administration wins again. Isn't amazing that they can find someone from January 6th who stuck there head in the door of the capital, or stood out in the crowd and did not go in and bring them to trial, but cannot find that bomber? 🤔 Yep someone taking a tour of the White House left that coke. Sure…. Lot of cameras everywhere to not know. I guess one could just as easily leave a bomb or chemical weapon and we would never know that either. 🤔 But I seem to remember that a man got into the Queens bedroom, so anything is possible I guess. |
