Today on Brushes & Bayonets, Edward and Josh broach a forbidden subject in miniature wargaming – our thoughts on scales and which we subjectively like best for certain periods. We go from 28mm to 2mm and for each major scale talk about what kind of game we think that size miniatures is best used for. link link |

You will know that 2mm and 28mm are 'sizes' but fortunately most wargamers will understand you anyway. |

Who forbade that subject? And when? |

That does seem an odd choice of words. |

Easy conversion between size and scales: 1800mm is 6 feet (dropping those niggly fractions of a mm.) Figure scale: 25mm (size) divided into 1800= 72nd scale.(1/72) Opposite way works also: Figure size: 1/144th scale divided into 1800= 12.5mm SIZE. The calculation is the denominator (bottom number) of the fractional scale. One will soon realize that designers have different ideas in how they work. The numbers do not lie. |
