There's a "Dioramas" board for, well, er, dioramas. If I want to see one I'll go to that board. If I want to see "discussion of terrain and scenics for the tabletop, both commercial products and do-it-yourself", I'll go to the "Terrain and Scenics" board. Yet when I go to the aforementioned "Terrain and Scenics" board, I find that it is often populated with dioramas of semi-naked fantasy women, cats, and people leaning out of windows. Now don't get me wrong, the skill level is often very high, far higher than I can achieve. But there is an appropriate, and different, board for those. I get that dioramas have terrain and scenics, but if they aren't a "discussion of terrain and scenics for the tabletop", such as a "how to", or a "where I got the component parts" why are they here? I go to the "Terrain and Scenics" board to get inspired about good terrain, and pick other more-talented-than-me people's brains on how to make terrain, not to see some in a diorama. Crossposting is a great feature. if I had the ability to create beautiful terrain and a cool website I'd write tutorials on how to do it. If I made a cool 18th century bridge, I'd put it in the "Terrain and Scenics" board because that's what it would be. I might crosspost it to the 18th Century Gallery, and other era (Napoleonic, 19th Century etc) boards where it might be useful to people there. I'd link to my tutorial so people could benefit from my (hypothetical) expertise. So crosspost away, but please don't clutter boards with stuff that has no connection to that board. And no, this isn't crossposted to another board :~) Cheers, John |

Point taken. I can agree with that. |

Well, the only person posting to the Dioramas board is Tango1, who also seems to own this board. Since I block him, I rarely see these 2 boards show up in my feed. |

I don't see anything of the stuff Tango posts as I've blocked him unless I have the misfortune to actually go to one of the forums. Front Page only for me, which avoids all the spam crap he likes to put up. |

I have all boards turned on. TBH, I wouldn't know how to selectively access specific boards. 🤷 I have Tango01 on. Not blocked. Maybe it's just because I like to insult his bare naked ladies, and comment that these broads must have been designed by 12 year old boys with severe acne. Very rarely are there any worth looking at. And most of the rest are clickbait "20 Amazing Things about Japanese history!" type articles. A few other frequent posters annoy me, and I click there, again, just to rant. They know who they are. 😄 And I've been DHed over that, deservedly so I might add. Character flaw on my part, I think. 🙄 It costs nothing to click on a thread, glance at and click right out if it's not worth bothering with. Sage advice, that I wish I would follow. I might also add that occasionally the people who annoy me the most sometimes post something worth reading. |

What OFM said, I would have gotten DH or worse again. |

I agree that we can always chose not to click on something but that wasn't my point. There are a lot of things I chose not to click on, entire boards that don't interest me. I go to the ones that are of interest to me, so I'm annoyed to find I'm being spammed with irrelevant stuff. For example, if someone wants to show off their latest 40K army, and posts a bunch of photos of it all lined up on their bench, well and good. There are boards for that. But the Terrain and Scenics board ain't it. You can't always tell from the title, or even from a brief description, what you're going to find. I expect a few duds of course, but there are specific boards rather than one giant forum for a reason. I'm just suggesting people should exercise a bit of thought about where they post, or more likely, crosspost to. Cheers, John |
