So, I have the Brigade Games WickedvFelina with Mariachi band. Mo just ordered from Knuckleduster yet another Eicked Felina with guitar player, and Loose Woman sitting in Cowboy's lap.
So, of course I have to have a saloon fight.

What are good 28mm rules for such, figures, bar, poker and Keno players, etc?

Fluency in Latin is of course nice, but not necessary.

Dixon do a nice set of poker players sitting round a table. Because they are sitting, the Dixon short legs are not so noticeable (the standing figures look terrible, IMO). Dead Man's Hand is a good set which plays quickly

John, in case you missed it, Knuckleduster has several sets a cowboys playing poker (1 set in sombrero and 1 set in traditional cowboy hats) a Faro table and dealer, a saloon set, and a piano and piano player set.

Thanks 79th. I'm looking for more options.

Ok. That and Dixon is what I am aware of. Have you looked at etsy?

Look closely at the Knuckleduster range. The Gunfighter's Ball rules are pretty comprehensive and fun.

The original "Rules For Western Gunfights" from the UK (almost 50 years old, now) had an entire section on bar room brawls.

Mechanically, the rules are obsolete by modern standards, but the ideas and inspiration are still there.

(And, "Yes!," I'm THAT old!)

Let's just say that I'm not all that impressed with some modern standard rules. They're rules just for the sake of having rules.

Patrick.
I googled those rules and Noble Knight had a set for $25. USD 👍
I don't need no card driven modern rubbish! I'm an Old Fart! They're from 1975!

John!

If you've got twenty-five disposable dollars, I'd say, "Buy it!"

It's likely the Second Edition (the First was loaded with photos of the author's (including Mike Blake, Ian Colwill, and Steve… okay, I AM that old, too) wonderful 54mm games and town set up. I believe the rules for Bar Fights, Stampedes on trail drives, and a host of other ideas are still good.

My reference to "obsolete" referenced the multiple steps adjudicate a single shot, some complex matrices, and generally Old School British Rules from the late 60's/early 70's. No, nothing card driven, no buckets of dice (early use of D10's, etc), but written with such love and respect for the subject that they deserve to be remembered--if not played exactly as written.

Oh, it just came in the mail yesterday. 😄
It's the Third Edition ©️ 1975.
It's charmingly Old School from the excruciatingly tiny font in the text and charts, to instructions on how to modify 54mm figures with plasticine.
They had no concept of our current "hefty 28mm" figures. How quaint!
"You'll go blind reading that!"
"Can I just do it until I need glasses?"

It seems rather universal. We have been planning and collecting a veritable Napoleonic approach just because… I set out mindlessly collecting one each of every single Western Indian figure from as man manufacturers, with no duplication, as possible. I now have over 80. 🙄 Errr… That's not logical, is it?
But with these rules, I can do Wes Studi as Toughest Pawnee. Or Josie negotiating with Ten Bears. Old Lodge Skins being invisible. OK Corral. "I only kissed the girl!"

Speaking of Toughest Pawnee, I have a few candidates in my stash. 😄
