… Was To Becoming Extinct in 1908 "Since the existence of humanity, our ancestors were most probably quite close to extinction without them even knowing due to various natural reasons that either way they did not have control over. About 100 years ago, a similar case happened where one of the biggest explosions on our planet occurred, yet only a few people were aware at the time as the internet didn't yet exist. The Tunguska event, named after the location it took place, was considered to be the doing of a big meteorite that hit the earth. This is what scientists also believed for over a century, but recently it has proven that nothing actually hit the earth, and just how lucky we got. Before dwelling on the recent scientific research, let's look at the Tunguska event from 1908…"

A lot of speculation in the article. No evidence to prove the new expert's claim of a giant meter grazing the atmosphere. Sounds possible, but not convinced. |

We've had a good idea for sometime that something exploded in the atmosphere. Whether that something was big and fast enough to cause a catastrophe was, the last time I looked at this issue, still not entirely clear. Still, it would probably have been worse if it had not exploded. |

The dinosaurs lasted 180 millions years, mankind has been around 2 million. Who rates our chances of getting to 20 million. We are an irrelevant dust mote in the planets history and most of the rest of the planets species will be glad when we go. |
