Turner Miniatures just launched their WWII early war kickstarter. My try at printing and painting some of the sample miniatures. Printing was done with no scaling at all. On the left is a base of GHQ 6 mm miniatures, on the right a base of the printed miniatures, all Germans.

You print them, you decide the scale! :) Out of the "box" they are 7mm, foot to eye. |

Oh, and the intended range of scales to print is 6 to 15mm. |

Very nice. I'm guessing you could print them slightly smaller to get an exact match with the GHQ? Also apparently it is important to use a strong resin. |

You can certainly get a better match. I plan to use figures from the vehicle crew add-on for my GHQ vehicles. Those will have to be scaled down even more to fit well. |

And another review: link Goonhammer goes a bit into the Blender options of the kickstarter (conversion time, LEGO style). |

The Kickstarter is entering its final hours. A little more backing and all the bits for the French 1940 army are funded – infantry, colonials, cavalry, motorcyclists and motorized troops, vehicle crews and passengers – at least as Blender files. The Fallschirmjäger, Polish and Belgian stretch goals unfortunately seem to be out of reach. I really wanted the Belgians, but at least I get the bits needed for modeling a French DLC as opponents for my 6mm Germans. |

Not a fan of his stuff. I spent a lot of money on his &YW stuff and it isn't very good. |

I just finished painting 100+ Turner 6mm WW2 French infantry plus support weapons (MGs, 60 and 81 mm mortars, 25mm AT guns). I am very happy with the result, especially as it is the first army I painted partially with contrast (actually Express) paints. They look very good next to mostly GHQ vehicles going into battle as allies to my friends Brits. I printed them scaled 90% on Z-axis and 80% on the X- and Y-axis, to roughly match GHQ, 2D6 and modern H&R figure sizes. After fiddling a bit in Blender to add some pose combinations I missed, like LMG loaders with pistols, there is hardly a duplicated figure in the entire set! Next up for printing and painting will be some French cavalry for the DLCs fighting in the Ardennes, then some French MCs for the same, then the motorized infantry and then maybe some Colonials. Well, I can dream, can't I! ;) |
