Either this is new or it was posted so long ago that I cannot find it listed anywhere else but I have just seen that SELWG 2024 has cancelled. The website is here: selwg.org and says: "It is with regret that we confirm that SELWG '24 will not be taking place later this year. This was not a decision taken lightly, SELWG has regularly run an annual show since the 70s, interrupted only by pandemics or unexpected building emergencies. The costs of putting on a show have though risen over the years. The costs to run the show for this year, for various reasons, have spiked. The Club Committee carefully considered the both those costs and the likely income from running the show. Unfortunately there was a mismatch, with total costs exceeding expected income. Rather than try to cut back on some elements and proceed with a show that might not be of the standard expected of SELWG or significantly increasing ticket prices we have cancelled the show for this year. The Committee are now considering options for 2025, including alternative venues or approaches. The SELWG Committee." A great shame as it is/was a good event and I liked the Lee Valley venue. I was looking forward to it. Barry |

We were informed on 4th April that the show was being cancelled and traders booking fees were to be refunded, so you are a little late to the party. Like you we were disappointed. |

@TheOtherOne etc: Yes, I guessed I was late to the party but I was not so active in April and must have missed the original posting. Still it is good to remind anyone else like me! :) If readers want to see what they are missing, this was last year's event: YouTube link Enjoy! Barry |

sad news. I was a SELWG club member whilst still at school in the mid 1970's and attended the first SELWG show. Those early shows at Greenwich Town Hall were a true inspiration. Anyone know if the club is still based at the Grove Park youth centre these days? I know I'm going back half a century here and apologise for the nostalgic digression! Lee. |

Would there really be such an issue about increasing the ticket price. By the time I've spent 3 hours battling SWR and TFL to get to Salute or spent 3 hours driving to Partizan (or Lee Valley!), the last thing I worry about is whether it's £5.00 GBP or £10.00 GBP to get through the door. An extra £5.00 GBP on the ticket is about what that Bacon Bap is going to cost you and I'd rather SELWG got the money. |
