Very interesting! Seems that a lot of wargame rules should have a little more effective penetration than the standard value so often given! |

My rules allow for 3 in 6 chance of penetration at penetration range, 1 in 6 of partial penetration and half damage. I also allow a 1 in 6 penetration chance at the next range when the stats suggest not. This generally seems to give the sort of results I want. What I find difficult to decide are the maximum effective ranges. Some rules use the ranges quoted in test firings, which can produce hits at ranges far in excess of reality. |

Very interesting! Seems that a lot of wargame rules should have a little more effective penetration than the standard value so often given! Or maybe damage effects from penetration should be just a little more randomized, less deterministic. Wargamers like the details, but it's impossible to account for all of the variables from firing point to impact point which could affect the amount of damage inflicted. |
