You were asked – TMP link I want to push Wargames Atlantic to make this set a permanent part of their plactics offerings. Currently they are print files only at $20 USD USD. If you are a 28mm Napoleonic gamer, would you buy this box of miniatures? 28% said "I would buy this box if it were available in plastic" 22% said "I would not buy this box" 13% said "I would buy this box only if it were available in metal" |

They do add spice to a game board |

They do, and are handy as civilian figures, but I wouldn't want a box of 20…. |

I think if you have all the combat units you require for actually playing games, then painting items like this could be fun. I've noted that other manufacturers offer figures such as camp followers, hangers on and support staff, which I thought might be fun to paint and base up, but again, only when I have all the actual combat units completed. And, considering I've only just started obtaining and basing my new units after going up a few scales to 28mm, they won't be on my to-buy list for some time. But it is good to know that such 'fun' miniatures are available. |

Sure, they liven up command stands and unit logistical baseline markers. My Army of Portugal Massena has his son and girlfriend, complete with hussar getup. |

I do pretty much have all the combat troops I need. But now have civilian wagons, workers digging, chopping wood, canteens with goods and ladies petitioning officers |

I have a good number of civilians and camp followers. We actually did a Napoleonic siege game once where each player was responsible for groups of civilians. The players tried to defend the city, while getting their civilians to safety. I remember the game well because one of the ways out of the city was by crossing a bridge, and one of the players had his engineers blow up the bridge after he got his civilians and troops across, leaving 2 other players and their civilians facing the enemy alone. On the roll of the dice one of the civilian units went crazy out of fear and attacked the enemy, only to be wiped out. Other groups surrendered and were slaughtered by Cossaks. Civilians who surrendered to actual troops were given quarter…it was a very interesting game, there are uses for civilians in games, and why not ?, they were there. |

I understood that for the most part camp followers were only rented, not purchased? Or have I spent too much time around hussars? |

As someone who does battles in 15mm and plays skirmish and The Silver Bayonet in 28mm, heck yeah, camp followers and civilians are appreciated. |

Well, that's another area of game playing to add and look forward to in future. And it sounds like it could be fun and different to conventional army versus army type of games. But I need to get stuck into my painting and ordering more combat mins first. |
