The Army's top enlisted leader has removed key guidance that required diversity to be considered when selecting individuals to serve in upper-level noncommissioned officer positions, according to a memo reviewed by Military.com.

Well a good "first step", if true.

I agree … DEI/CRT, etc. or anything like that has little to do with warfighting/preparing for war … Anything like that is a waste of time and gets in the way of actual training for combat, etc.

Good news.

Top enlisted leader can be over-ruled by DEI driven college they/them/theirs, ze/hir/hirs and per/per/pers.

Yes! Good news, on the right track.

Unless you hear today that he was fired, I absolutely guarantee that this decision was briefed to all of the principal staff (G-1/G-3/G-4 etc), the Chief of Staff and the Secretary of the Army, probably the major commanders (Corps and CoCom Army component commanders and MACOMs) and done with their concurrence and approval.

When you replace "the best person for the job" with mandatory diversity. You lose in the short and long run.

Just look at our presidential races for proof.

In the VP's defense, it's arguably the case that she worked hard for her first job, anyway.

So to speak.

Real leadership and real priorities … Has to be the first step.

The thing you know is that this would never have proceeded from one guy: it had to have everyone on board, particularly given the political sensitivity. And of all the services, the Army has always been the most notoriously allergic to that.

Hurrah. May this madness come to an end soon.

DEI is falling apart in the business world and this could be the start in the military. Now if we could just get rid of it in education and government…

Good!

I laughed out loud as I read this just when my boss walked by. He stared at me, rolled his eyes and continued on his way. Looks like I won't be invited to the Christmas party this year. You owe me, mister. lol

Harris is more of the "right place, right time" politician much like Obama was.

Nine pound round25 Sep 2024 2:22 p.m. PST

Like her, I try hard – just not quite as hard.

IJM, if by "right place, right time" you mean "in a position under the Mayor of San Francisco," you'd be absolutely right.

In more ways than one.

DEI like the Go Green EV plans, both were bad ideas from the start. Funded and advocated by a small very wealthy, cabal of woke progressive ideologs, globalists, socialists, etc. These very wealthy leftists have used their $ to buy some of our leaders in DC and the WH. By funding their campaigns, giving them gifts, etc., etc.

The majority of US citizens don't agree with much/most of these ways to fundamentally change America. From the USA to the USSA …
