Are there any good photographic collections or photographic histories of the FPW?

I don't know, but I do recall seeing a photograph that was taken during the Franco Prussian War in some book that claimed to be the first photo of troops actually in action.

Fantastic, thanks everyone! I wanted to get a feel for the land at that time as I plan my table. And also understand what the vibe was and what the participants saw. Glad this board is up and running!
