I visited the Tim-Mee website, and I could not resist the chance to buy nine Gray Tanks. My Gray Army has never had Mechanized Cavalry, before. They have everything else. I Carpe' Diem'd the opportunity. Now I need to see if I can locate my peel-n-stick letters and numbers I used, 20 years ago, on my Green and Tan Tanks! After I apply the ID letters/numbers, and perhaps add a touch of paint to them, I will brush on The Dip Technique -- Royal Walnut, or some other dark brown color, to give them a rough-and-ready appearance, like the Green and the Tan Tanks. Slowly, very slowly, I am gearing back up to run more Plastic Wars Army Men games again. Hoping to run some games for Police and children, as a part of the local Community Education program: let the local Police Officers play Army Men games with local children, to build rapport with them, and their parents. Cheers! |

Yes. The plastic they used is harder than typical Army Men plastic -- it feels like it might snap if flexed too far. Looking forward to seeing how paint/urethane stain adheres to it. I drilled a hole in an old Marx plastic Viking figure's hand tonight: he'd been fully craft painted a couple of years ago; the acrylic paint came off like a molted skin, due to flexing. This Viking is made of much softer, less brittle feeling, plastic. I inserted the wire spear in his hand, but he needs a bit of fresh paint… Cheers! |
