I went with a dark gray (almost black gray) for my RalPartha Boer Transvaalse Staatartillerie. I know I did the research, however, it was so long ago I don't remember what it was or how I decided.

Colin, There's an irony, I also have them the same color for my Spanish American War Spanish artillery. It may well be that my research showed that they were in the factory paint job from Krupp.

@oldjarhead, from the research I've done the Boer artillery all seem to be painted in a medium grey. I'd like to know what others have found before I get to painting up mine. Cheers, JB

Interestingly enough, I did paint my Boer Long Tom in medium gray. I believe I based it on existing monuments. Once again, the project was completed in the last century so research details are a little cloudy.
