I read that the Italians had several squadrons participate in the Battle of Britain. This was news to me. A good source for scenario fodder.

Check out the book "The Chianti Raiders" for the whole story.
Very good book.

Yes, they were there and put in a, shall we say, less than spectacular performance. Brave none the less but a lot of effort expended for little reward. Not the aircrews fault but the "Big Benito" doomed them to failure once again with poor strategic planning. Even the Germans didn't want them there!

And yes, the Italians are one of my favorites.

79,
Interesting stuff but not very balanced scenarios. They didn't claim any British and most of their losses were non combat.
Malta is better balanced particularly early. Still, as son said; brave airman let down by poor planning and equipment.

I wouldn't let real life keep you from throwing up a handful of Italian planes and a few Hurricanes. Aren't most air-to-air games made up?

I wouldn't let real life keep you from throwing up a handful of Italian planes and a few Hurricanes. It certainly could have happened. Aren't almost all air-to-air games made up? They are, in my experience.

Skirmish Campaigns 'Falcon of the Duce' has scenarios for Italians vs Hurricanes, and a lot of other things too.

For actions over North Africa and the Med.

79, true that. Not surprisingly I use the scenario generator in squadron forward. They are all fun but the Italians have a tough time over the channel. I didn't mean to disparage your post. Italian stuff is always good.
BB. Bet that is a great book. I love the Italian air force. The MC 202 is a decent plane and the 205 is a good one. I was stationed at aviano but couldn't find anything from the war there.
In town the few monuments are for WW I.

Falcon of the Duce is a really good book.

The scenarios start with Italian biplanes and go up to '44 and MC202s.

It also has a lot of background info including camo details.

Well worth getting.

BB,
Sounds like a lot in the book. Since I play solo I like to take squadron forward, be handed my mission, fly it and see what we run into.
Thanks
Joe
