It is amazing how quickly time passes. In my courses I could ask my students where were you when 9/11 happened. Now, my freshmen thru seniors were not even born yet.

A terrible terrible day. First responders that day are still dying from the effects. Rest in peace all of the victims. There is a girder from the Towers on prominent display at the Military Museums here in Calgary, Alberta – as I do every year I will go there tomorrow for respect and reflection.

Never forget and never ever forgive.

Thank you for posting this very important reminder. Seems like life just carries on and people forget…

I remember it as if it were yesterday. I remember where I was, I remember watching the second airplane strike, as I was watching/listening to a live report on the first strike. I remember the shock, I remember the fear of what else would be struck. I remember fearing for my friends whom I thought could be targeted next.

It was a terrible, horrific day. I will never forget it.

I take every chance I get to thank service men and women, for their service. I need to extend that gratitude to all First Responders -- terror happens every day for many of them: answering shooting calls, domestic violence calls, ambulance calls to the same situations.

My heart is heavy with remembrance, loss, and anger. God bless everyone who answers the call to serve, militarily, or domestically, putting their lives at risk. I salute you. Cheers!

I was a patrol sergeant and had worked deep nights earlier that morning. I was sleeping when my wife came in and said a plane had hit a building in New York. I thought of the B25 smacking into the Empire State and went back to sleep. In a few minutes she came back in and said another plane had crashed into a building. That got my attention and as I was getting up my pager went off. It was 72 hours before I made it home again. Later I was assigned to JTTF and my team made several arrests which were the most satisfying of my 37 year career thus far. Each one was for those poor people in the towers and those going to their aid. Political correctness and the idiotic woke movement prevents us from saying such things as "kill them all," but kill them all.

My city has flags out everywhere, as well as neighborhoods like mine. I've watched a lot of the remembrances this morning.

I thought this was apropos as we are now 23 years later and how many are forgetting or even siding with the terrorists.

"As the nation reflects on the 23 years since 9/11, we must ask ourselves: How will the U.S. stand against terror in the future as the younger generation's fading memory emboldens America's enemies?"

This particularly caught my attention.

"At protests across the country, "United We Stand" has been replaced by anti-American chants. Pledges to "Never Forget" have themselves been forgotten by Americans, many of whom have turned 9/11 into a meme, as pointed out by a 21-year-old college student who said she "genuinely forgot that not everyone thinks it's funny now," in an X post that was favorited more than 10,000 times. Others have found much to agree with in Bin Laden's infamous 2002 "Letter to America."

A recent poll found that almost one-third of Gen-Zers think Bin Laden's views were a "force for good," reported The Jerusalem Post.

Perhaps it's unsurprising, then, that members of this same generation sympathize with Hamas terrorists who raped, massacred, and kidnapped over a thousand Israelis on October 7th, 2023. They wear Hamas headbands and wave terrorist flags at protests, and harass Jewish students from the illegal encampments they've constructed on college campuses.

Hamas, which killed 43 Americans, still holds seven captive. Hamas originally took eight American hostages, but last month executed Hersh Goldberg Polin by shooting him in the back of the head at close range."

I remember hearing about the first plane and thinking what a terrible accident then seeing the second hit and realising we are war now and don't know who with.

As I have said before, the GWoT continues … Predators know when they see weakness … And take full advantage of it.

Evil never rests. When we have defeated evil in the past it comes back again and again.

We must stand for Truth and Freedom, without giving way to the same blind hate that caused these evil men to take these evil actions. I don't hate groups just the individuals who do or support these evil actions – that does not prevent me from being more watchful around people from these groups – I just save the hate for those who deserve it.

I remember that I was hiking in the backcountry when it happened. I got back home and popped into a sandwich shop only to see folks glued to a TV up in a corner. I saw a plane crashing into a skyscraper and asked folks what had happened. They said "don't you know? Terrorists hijacked the aircraft and crashed them into the WTC". Wow, what a shock. I would have turned over every stone, gone to the ends of the earth -no matter how long it took, whatever it cost, or how many had to die to eliminate the MF's responsible. Still would.
