About eighteen months ago I was fortunate enough to find myself at the Darwin Aviation Museum, host to nineteen civil and military aircraft, that includes among others, a B25 Mitchell, replica Spitfire VIII and the mighty B52, along with a display of twenty-one aero engines and crash site relics.

Previously known as the Australian Aviation Heritage Centre, the museum displays aircraft and aircraft engines of relevance to the Northern Territory and aviation in Australia generally, and its ambition was later broadened to include the documentation of World War II aircraft crash sites and the preservation of aviation relics related to the defence of Darwin during World War II.

Being a resident I'm lucky enough to have been a couple of times. Your write up does it justice indeed. Apart from the 2 museums, did you get to the oil tunnels?

Hi and thank you, glad you enjoyed the read. I did indeed visit the oil tanks and more, reported in my first post, link attached.
