Hello,

For the beginning of a game of a non-scenario game, what is your preference regarding deployment state of troops? I'm particulary curious what most do on modest sized tables for a Divisional/Corps game. When it comes to reserves I think that some form of Campaign Column is logical, especially if their arrival is not exactly certain. I'm aware 40" is R&E's recommended distance to start deploying (essentially a mile apart by my quick math).

When it comes to scenarios I think its far more clear cut what state the troops should be in, although changing it up can lead to some interesting tactical problems (imagine an Auerstadt refight with Fully Deployed Prussians!).

Thanks.
